Carmen Lecanda graduated from Bilbao University with a degree in Beaux Arts and did her Post Graduate work in Florence Italy. In 1986, Carmen was appointed as Professor of Fine Arts at the “Escuela de arts Y Oficos in Vitora Spain, where she is responsible for the Art Colour, Drawings, Watercolour, Creative Projects and Open Air Painting Programs. Carmen’s work has been shown in more than 30 major exhibitions in Spain and across Europe. Her modern images are bright and colourful expressions of the powerful landscape of emotions that flow through her artistic spirit.

“I've been in different stages of artist thinking, along my life. The important point is where you are at the moment; currently I try to express my inside feelings trough colour extracted from nature and re-elaborated as a personal inside landscape. In this way the important thing is to be honest with yourself and express truly what you are and what you feel even if people understand or not what you do. The opposite way is wrong and false, so the matter is not to be cheat with yourself!”
